The University of Pittsburgh Board of Trustees has approved a $50 million renovation plan that will add laboratory and administrative space for the School of Dental Medicine's Center for Craniofacial Regeneration and the School of Pharmacy's Center for Pharmacogenetics and Center for Clinical Pharmaceutical Sciences.
School officials say they hope to finish the addition to Salk Hall by 2013. The expansion is one of four new construction and renovation projects totaling more than $110 million that the board approved November 15.
The state is providing $80 million toward the construction and renovation projects, and the National Institutes of Health is funding an additional $14 million, according to the university. Construction will begin this fiscal year.
