DentalEZ StarBright LED handpiece swivel, LED bulbs

Bright light connector with 30,000 usage hours? As a huge fan of DentalEZ's EverLight, I am thrilled the company added its LED technology to the Star and Solara handpiece attachments. Who wouldn't want a bulb that will last almost forever?

Solara Titanium handpieces are truly the lightest in the industry. Two of the best new features DentalEZ added to this handpiece are the StarBright LED handpiece swivel and new StarBright LED replacement bulbs. This is another easy great "green" addition to your operatory. The LED swivels are lightweight, autoclavable, and durable. The light is a cool white light (4,000 K) that lasts 10 times longer than the halogen.

The StarBright LED handpiece swivel is compatible with any six-pin International Organization for Standardization (ISO) type C tubing. Recently, we had our tubing replaced and this swivel fit perfectly.

"DentalEZ continues to develop advanced technologies that improve the ability of the dental professional to deliver exceptional care to their patients," said Rick Gross, senior product manager for DentalEZ. "This new LED swivel and replacement bulb does just that. It is lighter and shorter in length, giving the handpiece better balance, and the true white light is clearer and reduces eyestrain."

KaVo Dental ComfortDrive

I never thought I would be an "electric" fan. I had always heard how heavy electric handpieces were and how much heat they generated. But once I tried the ComfortDrive from KaVo Dental, I became a convert.

This handpiece is not only lightweight but has amazing speed when you need it. Removing a faulty gold crown or porcelain fused to metal crown is a snap. But, this lightweight handpiece is not only great for the heavy-duty procedures, it makes cutting a simple preparation faster and more efficient.

Two other highlights of the Kavo ComfortDrive include its ability to deliver constant power and the ease of installation. I am able to go from cutting the preparation to feathering the edge seamlessly. The handpiece is almost intuitive to my style of practice.

In addition to being lightweight, it is also light on the ears. ComfortDrive is one of the quietest handpieces available. With the shorter length and the light weight, it is great for a woman's hand. No more fear of electrics for me!
