Henry Schein's Dentrix Enterprise dental practice management software will be deployed as the electronic dental record (EDR) system for all federal and tribal sites in the U.S.
The software will be integrated with the U.S. Indian Health Service (IHS) Resource and Patient Management System to provide an EDR system for IHS Tribal and Urban dental programs.
Dentrix Enterprise, which has been in use by individual IHS sites for two years, recently received national certification from the HIS Office of Information Technology and the Division of Oral Health, the company said.
More than 1,800 dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants will rely on the IHS EDR system to help provide care to approximately 1.5 million patients, according to Jim Harding, senior vice president and chief technology officer for Henry Schein.
