PracticeWorks Systems, a division of Carestream Health, will purchase the Windent business of HealthSoft, the companies announced.
Windent makes dental practice management software. The acquisition will expand PracticeWorks' portfolio of imaging and practice management products, which includes the Kodak 9000 3D system, the Kodak 9500 cone-beam CT system, and software programs including the Kodak Pearl module for iPhone and BlackBerry.
PracticeWorks will retain "the product and industry knowledge of the Windent team" to ensure continuity for customers, while augmenting the team with its own resources, the company stated in a press release.
