Florida A&M University remains optimistic about its chances to establish the state's third dental school, despite being excluded from the Board of Governors' legislative budget request, according to a news story in the Tallahassee Democrat.
University administrators had hoped their request for $1.5 million for the school would be added to the Board of Governors' legislative budget request last month. But the board didn't vote on the request, according to the Democrat.
"We are continuing to plan and look at what our options are," Tola Thompson, Florida A&M's director of governmental relations, told the Democrat. "We think there is still a great need for a college of dentistry."
