Planet DDS is now offering a basic package of its Denticon Web-based dental software for free. The company said it wants to make the software as accessible as possible because "Internet-based services are the future of dental office operations and Web-based software is the platform to deliver these services."
"The Internet has changed the way that software and services are delivered," said CEO Richard Lee in a press release. "We have seen that this is the future of operations in dental offices for quite a while. Now we have decided to take the buying decision out of software in an effort to increase every office's ability to take advantage of remote services."
Start-up and beginning dental practices now have free access to a number of Denticon features, including full scheduler, treatment planning, insurance handling capabilities, and the iPhone interface. For additional low monthly fees, the company said, premium services can be added, such as online patient registration, patient portal, charting, and digital imaging.
In addition, Planet DDS can provide a number of services remotely using Denticon as the platform, giving users secure access to practices' real-time data. These virtual business services include online appointment booking, inbound call answering, and insurance verification.
