Approximately 350 educational courses for dental professionals will be offered at the 2010 Yankee Dental Congress in January, according to its chief organizer, the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS).
A program designed especially for dental auxiliaries, "Team Development Day," will take place on January 28, featuring Sean Crabtree; Linda Drevenstedt; Ann Eshenaur Spolarich, R.D.H., Ph.D.; Fay Goldstep, D.D.S.; Shirley Gutkowski, R.D.H.; Janice Hurley-Trailor; and Shannon Pace, C.D.A.
On January 29, the conference will feature "A Day With the Dawson Academy: Foundations for Success." The Dawson faculty will present this full-day lecture on "The Concept of Complete Dentistry," as developed and taught by Peter Dawson, D.D.S.
"The Conference for Women in Dentistry" will offer an in-depth look into private practice options and success and best practices pertinent to women in dentistry. It features Barbara Kay, D.M.D.; Charles Blair, D.D.S.; Celeste Kong, D.M.D.; Andrea Richman, D.M.D.; Mary Pat Hagan; and Kelli Vrla.
The Yankee Dental Congress expects 26,000 attendees at the 2010 meeting, according to the MDS.
That would be about the same as this year, when it attracted 6,392 dentists, 2,014 dental students, 5,633 hygienists, 3,734 assistants, 1,649 office personnel, 141 technicians, 2,069 "guests," and 4,386 exhibitors, for a total of 26,138 attendees, the MDS reported.
The Boston conference is the fifth largest dental meeting in the U.S., according to the society.
