Oregon dental school remodels patient reception center

The Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry recently completed an extensive renovation of its patient reception center for its predoctoral clinic.

The remodeled patient reception center was unveiled in mid-July.

"We want our reception center to represent the kind of customer service and quality care people have come to expect when they choose our school for their dental needs," said Jack Clinton, D.M.D., dean of the dental school, in a press release.

The remodel was designed for the transition to an electronic health record system for dental patient charts, which is slated for early 2010, Dr. Clinton said. It was funded entirely by the Dean's Fund for Excellence, he noted.

"We are thankful to our school donors who earmarked gifts specifically to this discretionary fund, particularly in these tight economic times when there are no funds to spare from the school budget," Dr. Clinton said.
