OCS forms new dental business unit, launches new products

OCS, a provider of healthcare data analytics and informatics, has formed Dentra, a new business unit dedicated to dentistry and oral healthcare.

"We are thrilled to launch Dentra, a first-of-its-kind organization that captures, benchmarks, and reports comparative practice data for dental professionals," said Dentra President and CEO Amanda Twiss in a press release. "OCS has proven capabilities and is prepared to support the dental industry, which is long overdue for data intelligence solutions. This is the first step in improving patient outcomes and satisfaction by identifying and sharing best practices. What's more, Dentra prepares dental practices for the growing demand of reporting and evidence-based care."

Dentra also announced the launch of Patient Satisfaction (PatSat) and PracticeView. PatSat is an online patient feedback and reporting service that evaluates practice performance from the patients' point of view. PracticeView helps practices measure all aspects of their production, business growth, and quality of care. Information is collected from claims data, practice management systems, and payer databases, then analyzed. The results are delivered in reports that are used to increase profitability, discover production improvement opportunities, identify growth potential, find new customers, and optimize marketing efforts, according to Dentra.
