The University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) College of Dentistry announced that its class of 2009 got a 100% pass rate on the second part of the National Board Dental Examination.
The 47-student class also had a 100% pass rate on the first part of their national board exams.
"The national failure rates for the dental national boards (either part I or part II) are about 10%, so for an entire class to have 100% passing on the first administration is a significant accomplishment," said John Reinhardt, D.D.S., dean of the College of Dentistry.
Over the past 20 years, the only other UNMC dental class to have a 100% pass rate on the national board exams was the class of 2006.
