Most dental students would love an all-expense paid scholarship to dental school, but the U.S. Army is offering even more.
The U.S. Army Medical Department is now offering a one-time $20,000 Critical Skills Accession Bonus (CSAB) to medical and dental students who are accepted into the army's F. Edward Hebert Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP).
The scholarship covers dental school tuition, school-related fees, and books, and offers a stipend of more than $1,900 per month. Students who accept the bonus will be required to do four-year active duty and four-year reserve service.
"Army healthcare through its scholarship program provides students with a first rate medical and dental education, advanced training and experience as a member of the best health care team in the world," said Col. Rafael Montagno, commander U.S. Army Medical Recruiting Brigade in a press release.
