Innoden has launched BIOX, a portable x-ray unit designed for use in dentistry.

BIOX, which has U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance, is designed so that the battery pack is separated from the main body and can be clipped to the operator's belt or placed in a pocket. The unit weighs only 4.8 lb, making it one of the lightest portable x-ray units on the market, according to the company.
While other portable x-ray units are commercially available, some are very expensive and some are not cleared by the FDA to be used in the U.S., according to Innoden.
Innoden, based in Seattle, WA, is a distributor for Korean dental equipment and supply companies.
