In response to a request for x-ray film, Carestream Health -- the exclusive manufacturer of Kodak Dental Systems -- has donated 100 boxes of Kodak Ultra-Speed dental film (totaling 15,000 x-rays) to Haiti relief efforts.
This donation was delivered through Project C.U.R.E., a nonprofit humanitarian relief organization that delivers donated medical supplies and services to doctors and nurses, and the patients under their care in developing nations around the world.
"To properly diagnose and treat dental issues, our partners are in need of x-ray film to meet the number of earthquake survivors needing dental care," said George Roberge, vice president of operations for Project C.U.R.E. "We are very grateful for Carestream Health's generous donation to Haiti and its people."
"We are honored to play a part to provide supplies to the dental and medical professionals that are aiding the survivors of this terrible tragedy," said Rich Hirschland, president of Carestream Health's Dental Systems Group.
Carestream Health has also launched an employee donation-matching program that matches each dollar the company's employees donate to the American Red Cross.
