Dental products manufacturer Dentsply Sirona, Siemens Healthineers, and the University of Minnesota (UMN) School of Dentistry have installed the first dental-dedicated magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner in the U.S.
The collaboration will explore the capabilities of Siemens' Magnetom Free.Max Dental Education scanner in capturing and analyzing images of soft-tissue structures and lesions, empowering clinicians with diagnostic information for a range of oral conditions such as endodontics, temporomandibular disorders, periodontics, and orthodontics.
UMN was selected as the installation site based on its experience with MRI research, according to a press release from Dentsply Sirona.
