Varian Medical Systems has announced a plan to spin off the company's imaging components business.
The new standalone company will be called Varex Imaging and will focus on supplying components, software, and engineering services to the dental, medical diagnostics, and other industries, according to Varian.
The company projects the spin-off to be completed by the end of 2016.
