ThreeRivers 3D, a manufacturer of standard and custom 3D imaging systems, has introduced the LC-2-MACRO, a scanner optimized for 3D scanning of small parts such as dental molds.
The LC-2-MACRO has a working volume of 4 x 3 x 3 inches and a point spacing of 80 µm, enabling it to capture fine details, according to the company. The device has a scan time of 5 seconds for a single view, and resolution of 1.2 million points.
Other features include the following:
- A resolution of 1280 x 960 per individual scan and an optional rotary turntable that automates full 360° capture
- An Ethernet interface for setup, configuration, and data transfer
- Laser-based scanning, resulting in immunity to ambient lighting changes
- Weighs less than 5 lb and fits on a desktop
