J. Morita has announced a major reduction in radiation dosage of its cone-beam CT (CBCT), or 3D, units.
Morita's 3D product lines now come automatically equipped with a dose-reduction feature that lowers dosage from 30% to 40% on all 3D fields-of-view. This new feature enhances the display of soft tissue and does not diminish image clarity, according to the company.
The dose-reduction feature is 100% automatic and comes standard on every 3D system Morita sells, according to Steven White, senior vice president of sales and marketing. Morita 3D units that are already in the field can be upgraded with minimal, if any, part replacement, he added.
