PracticeWorks is partnering with Michael Pikos, D.D.S., to provide information about the advances in, and diagnostic benefits of, 3D imaging technology for dentistry.
Dr. Pikos will speak at a series of PracticeWorks conferences over the next several months, according to the company. His presentations will include clinical case studies in which he used 3D digital imaging systems to diagnose and treat his patients.
As founder and CEO of the Pikos Implant Institute, Dr. Pikos has been teaching advanced bone and soft-tissue grafting courses in 32 countries, including the U.S., for the past 20 years, the company noted.
"The impact that cone-beam CT has had on both my practice and my institute during the past five years has been nothing short of incredible," Dr. Pikos said in a press release. "This technology has resulted in a significant paradigm shift with my approach to comprehensive diagnosis and treatment planning."
PracticeWorks offers the Kodak 9000 3D extraoral imaging system and the Kodak 9500 cone-beam 3D system.
"Oral and maxillofacial surgeons treat patients with three-dimensional problems every day, which is why such surgeons are expanding the role played by 3D dental imaging technology," said Patrik Eriksson, president and CEO of PracticeWorks, in the release. "As 3D technology has matured, it has become more readily available, more affordable, and easier to use."
