Planmeca is expanding its 3D imaging portfolio with ProMax 3D ProFace, a unique cone-beam volumetric tomography unit with integrated 3D face scan system, and ProMax 3D Mid, an extended selection of 3D volume sizes combined with traditional 2D panoramic and cephalometric imaging.
Both products are based on the Planmeca ProMax platform, making future upgrades simple, the company said.
ProMax 3D ProFace produces a realistic 3D face photo in addition to traditional digital maxillofacial radiography. Lasers scan the facial geometry, and the digital cameras capture the color texture of the face. One scan can generate both a 3D photo and a cone-beam volumetric tomograph, so patient position, facial expression, and muscle position remain unchanged.
ProMax 3D Mid offers an extended selection of volume choices to optimize imaging areas according to specific diagnostic tasks, the company noted. With ProMax 3D Mid, an optimal volume size is available for every application without compromising the best practices of dentistry, Planmeca said.
