PreXion has started shipping the PreXion3D volumetric imaging software for its cone-beam CT system, the company announced. Among the product's features are implant planning and placement tools and an enhanced version of its PrexViewer software.
The new implant planning tools allow clinicians to locate and mark the mandibular canal and nerves, and place virtual implants immediately, with 3D, axial, coronal, and sagital views to visualize patient's anatomy. This is done chair-side with the patient within moments of completing the cone-beam CT scan to enhance patient consultations and treatment acceptance. The implant planning and canal marking tools come with standard implant sizes and shapes, and also allow the importation of libraries of implant fixtures.
With the enhanced version of PrexViewer, users can now download 3D and CT images to a CD for use by referring doctors. Referring doctors can manipulate the images, evaluate cases, plan treatments, and use the images for patient consultations.
