3Shape has released the Dental System 2009 CAD/CAM software.
The 2009 3Shape Dental System contains many significant additions, the company noted, such as a larger range of dental indications, unique adaptive impression scanning, enhanced design efficiency, and unlimited free-form modeling flexibility.
When teamed with 3Shape's advanced D700 impression scanner, the 3Shape Dental System delivers high-quality impression scans for immediate digitization. With adaptive impression scanning, incomplete areas are automatically identified and rescanned. Impression scanning also enables the scanning of post and core, something not possible on traditional gypsum scanners, 3Shape said.
The Dental System 2009 also features a new intuitive interface and enhancements focused on user-friendliness, automated design, and process optimization, the company added. These include a free-form sculpt tool kit, crown automation, and split-file design options for pressed ceramic restorations.
The adaptive impression scanning module and the abutment design module come as add-on modules to the standard Dental System software package. The system will be launched through 3Shape's international network of distributors, who will also provide required training for end users.
