EBM Technologies has announced a new picture archiving and communications system (PACS) for archiving patient charts.
Pangea Dental is a Microsoft Internet Explorer-based digital imaging and communications in medicine (DICOM)-compliant PACS designed for dental practices.
This software can present bitewings, panoramic surveys, cone-beam CT studies, head/jaw CT studies, and MRI studies needed in oral surgery, oral medicine, periodontics, endodontics, and orthodontics, the company said.
The system includes processing and analysis tools, as well as scalability, redundancy, and synchronization.
Pangea Dental can interface with clinical and patient dental management software (electronic dental records) and has no limits regarding DICOM-based modality connections, the company said. It allows the end user to view any DICOM image and also allows input from non-DICOM based modalities via coupling with EBM's Uni-Gate software.
Pangea Dental is designed for use in dental schools, hospitals, public health settings, dental radiology clinics, and medium to large dental clinics.
