A free, nationwide human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination program for boys and girls would save billions in medical costs and prevent oropharyngeal cancers, according to the Center for Oral Health. Studies show that noncervical HPV-related diseases cost billions annually, and HPV-related oropharyngeal cancer cases will exceed cervical cancers by 2020.
