Sirona is offering an adapter as an extension for the XIOSPlus wall module, offering more configuration options for intraoral sensors.

Image courtesy of Sirona.Now when users purchase XIOS XG Select sensors, they will have another connection option to the practice computer with the wall box. Customers who already have a XIOSPlus wall module now have the option to switch to XIOS XG Select sensors. The adapter is plugged into the wall module instead of the sensor wall holder, bypassing the differences between the plug-in connectors on the XIOSPlus and the XIOS XG systems, according to the company.
The wall module is integrated in the practice network via an Ethernet connection to create a solution for hospitals or dental practices in which an immovable connection solution via the practice network with fixed IP address is required.
XIOS XG Select users can also replace the sensor cable themselves in the event of a malfunction. The sensors do not have to be replaced in the event of minor defects, and the service life of the sensors is longer, according to Sirona. No software update is necessary when upgrading to the new sensor generation.
