WDA joins oral health coalition

The Wisconsin Dental Association (WDA), representing some 3,145 dentists and dental hygienists, has officially joined the Wisconsin Oral Health Coalition (WOHC), a group of more than 160 organization, agencies, and individuals working to improve oral health for all residents statewide.

Prior to the WDA becoming an official WOHC member, the two organizations worked cooperatively on issues related to community water fluoridation, quality, and continuity of care concerns related to mobile dentistry groups, emergency dental care delivery, oral health education of medical providers, and reducing barriers to care for low-income residents.

The WOHC is managed by Children's Health Alliance of Wisconsin in collaboration with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services Oral Health Program. Funding is provided in part through a U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention cooperative agreement.
