2010 10 14 14 14 41 155 Ada Show Report

The ADA 153rd Annual Session takes place this week in San Francisco, and DrBicuspid.com's editorial team will be out in full force covering the four-day conference, including special events, new product announcements, and educational sessions.

This year our daily coverage of the ADA meeting will focus on the future of dentistry, including sessions on digital diagnostics, green dentistry, the economic downturn, the oral/systemic connection, new restoratives and adhesives, and controversies in implantology.

We will also be on hand for the opening general session on Thursday morning (October 19), where the Distinguished Speaker Series will feature a question and answer session with two well-known veterans of the U.S. political scene: Robert Reich and George Will.

Reich is professor of public policy at the University of California, Berkeley and has contributed to four national administrations, including President Barack Obama's economic transition board and as secretary of labor under former President Bill Clinton. Will is a Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist and a widely read political columnist; his twice-weekly column is published in nearly 500 newspapers throughout the U.S. and Europe, and he regularly appears on the ABC News show "This Week."

The ADA Annual Session also features nearly 300 continuing education (CE) courses and more than 60 hands-on workshops, including a new hands-on cadaver workshop offered at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. Attendees can also choose from unique learning opportunities, such as six live-patient courses in the "Education in the Round" learning format and a variety of high-tech courses in the ADA CE Hub featuring dental lasers, CAD/CAM systems, 3D imaging systems, and more.

The World Marketplace Exhibition will feature more than 600 suppliers of dental products and services.
