Over in the Imaging & CAD/CAM Community, the ADA's Council on Scientific Affairs has released recommendations for the safe use of cone-beam CT in a dental practice, with particular emphasis on patient safety, practitioner training, and dose considerations.
Meanwhile, some manufacturers of panoramic x-ray machines have begun marketing these products as an alternative to intraoral cameras for bitewing images. They contend that pano bitewings offer several advantages, including faster turnaround time and better patient acceptance.
