The California Dental Association (CDA) is seeking volunteers for its CDA Cares Free Dental Clinic for Californians in Need, which will run August 24-25 in Sacramento, CA.
The clinic will offer free dental care to the uninsured, underinsured, unemployed, and others in need. Patients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
The main goal of CDA Cares is to relieve pain and infection. With the help of community volunteers, dental professionals will offer cleanings, fillings, extractions, oral health education, and assistance in finding a dental home.
The association is calling on all physicians, dental lab technicians, nurses, pharmacists, translators, dentists, oral surgeons, hygienists, assistants, dental students, and other members of the community willing to donate their time. Volunteers are needed August 23-26.
In addition to providing dental services, volunteers are needed to escort patients, translate, dispense medication, set up and tear down the clinic, register patients and volunteers, conduct exit interviews, enter data, and provide oral health education.
