The Wisconsin Dental Association (WDA) Foundation has awarded $51,587 in grants and designated funding to 15 programs that bring oral healthcare to low-income Wisconsin residents and provide other dentistry-related services.
Here are some of the grant winners:
The AIDS Network in Madison will use its $5,000 gift to purchase dental clinic supplies and cover laboratory fees.
In Milwaukee, the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin will use a $5,000 award to help pay for patients' prosthodontic procedures and subsequent dentures.
Bread of Healing Clinic, also in Milwaukee, will use its $3,000 grant to purchase oral hygiene education materials and dental equipment.
Brown County Oral Health Partnership in Green Bay will use its $3,500 grant to purchase dental supplies and restorative materials necessary to provide care to adults with developmental disabilities and school-based care to low-income children.
Community Dental Clinic of Jefferson County will receive $4,000 toward the purchase of much-needed consumable supplies.
HealthNet of Rock County in Janesville has served low-income and uninsured county residents since 2007. The clinic, which is staffed by volunteer dentists, will use its $3,000 foundation grant to purchase equipment and supplies.
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Dental Clinic will use a $5,000 grant to purchase new equipment. The largely volunteer clinic provides free dental services to low-income children and adults from Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, and Waukesha counties.
