ADA meeting could generate $12M for Las Vegas economy

More than 28,000 attendees from 79 different countries are expected to attend the ADA's 152nd Annual Session and World Marketplace Exhibition at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas next week.

The meeting is estimated to generate approximately $12 million in revenue to local businesses, according to the ADA. Attendees have booked more than 25,000 hotel nights, which is estimated to generate nearly $6 million in revenue. In addition, the ADA and its affiliate organizations are scheduled to purchase an estimated $2 million in food and drinks, and meeting attendees are estimated to spend approximately $4 million during their stay.

The ADA annual meeting is one of the largest dental trade shows in the U.S. and was the 11th largest domestic medical meeting in 2010, according to the Healthcare Convention and Exhibitors Association.
