The ADEAGies Foundation has announced the winners of the 2011 William J. Gies Awards. The awards, named after dental education pioneer William J. Gies, PhD, honor individuals and organizations exemplifying dedication to the highest standards of vision, innovation, and achievement in dental education, research, and leadership.

- J. Bernard Machen, DDS, PhD -- Vision, Dental Educator
- Diarmuid Shanley, BDS, MScD -- Achievement, Dental Educator
- Tufts University School of Dental Medicine -- Achievement, Academic Dental Institution
