Robin Thoman, DDS, of Southport, IN, who is also mayor of the city, has been accused of fraud by the Office of the Indiana Attorney General in a complaint filed with the Indiana State Board of Dentistry, according to a news story on WIBC.com.
Dr. Thoman committed fraud by not disclosing that he served in the U.S. Army as an operating room specialist from 1977 to 1980 and was discharged under other than honorable conditions, according to the complaint. He also pleaded no contest in 1981 to a theft charge in Colorado, according to the story.
The complaint will be heard by the dental board, but the hearing date is yet to be scheduled.
