General Questions
Q. Why should I list my company's products/services in the Buyer's Guide?
A. Because it provides an easy way for you share information about your products or services to potential customers who have "self-qualified" thier interest by their search for your products. You can provide pictures of your product, key product specs, and links for people to learn more at your company. You can update your listings at anytime making changes as you introduce new products.
With the introduction of the Buyer's Guide, we've greatly enhanced the service to our buying audience, and also added numerous automated lead-generation tools that will allow vendors to source leads for a fraction of the cost they do today through traditional marketing channels.
Basic vendor and product listings are still free with Buyer's Guide. But vendors now have the option to enhance any product or service listing by choosing from a number of sponsorship levels which provide incremental product exposure, interactivity with buyers, and lead-generation potential.
The DrBicuspid.com Buyer's Guide represents one of the most powerful interactive tools for buyers in the dental market by providing immediate comparison listings of up-to-date product capabilities and specifications. Unlike static charts that are published periodically, the Buyer's Guide allows vendors to immediately communicate new product enhancements to potential buyers who are in the marketplace, and ensures the accuracy of the comparisons that buyers will use to make their final vendor selections.
The unprecedented access to dental buyers represents a great opportunity for vendors. No longer are sales revenues so predominantly a function of a company's sales force. Vendors can realize substantial productivity gains by leveraging the reach of DrBicuspid's web-based Buyer's Guide to source and pre-qualify sales leads around the clock, leading to major gains in productivity and labor savings.
FAQ Top
Q. Can I list a single product or service in more than one category?
A. No. Each individual product or service may be listed in only one category. If you feel that your product or service may fit into a number of categories, choose the most appropriate category. Vendors who list products or services in irrelevant or multiple categories risk permanent removal from all Buyer's Guide categories.
Note: Vendors may create as many individual product and/or service listings as are appropriate. If your company is not well represented in categories in which you do indeed have product and/or service offerings, this may be due to the fact that your product or service listings are too broad. If this is the case, we suggest breaking these broad products and/or services into a more appropriate number of individual product and/or service listings and assigning each to a relevant product category. For example, instead of listing one general service called "Practice Management, and Insurance," we suggest listing two specific services called "Practice Management," and "Insurance" and assigning them to the appropriate categories.
FAQ Top
Q. Why is there no specific category to list my products or services?
A. The current top-level category groups and categories are intended to cover primary product and service types offered in medical imaging.
Products and services that do not fit well into any one of these defined categories, or those which address multiple categories, should be listed in the "General Dentistry" category group.
FAQ Top
Q. In what order are products listed on the category pages?
A. All product and service listings are alphabetically ordered, first by company name, then by product name, according to a four-tiered system.
The first tier is reserved for all Professional sponsors' listings in alphabetical order, if there are any Professional sponsored products or services.
The second tier lists all Basic sponsors as a group, in alphabetical order, if there are any Basic -sponsored products or services.
The third tier, or the bottom tier, lists all Courtesy (or free) product listings in alphabetical order.
FAQ Top
Q. Are there any sponsorship opportunities besides individual product sponsorships?
A. Yes. There are a select few exclusive sponsorship opportunities that target main page areas of the Buyer's Guide, such as the home page and the main vendor directory page. These are well suited to large, multimodality vendors.
FAQ Top
Q. If my company is a reseller, can we list our products and services?
A. For product or service listings, DrBicuspid's Buyer's Guide is designed primarily for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Resellers of new or used equipment may not list products they resell on behalf of an OEM in the Buyer's Guide; however they may list services they offer. Resellers of new equipment may list their products in the "Dealers and Distributors" category. Resellers of used and/or refurbished equipment may list their products in the "Pre-Owned Equipment" category.
Resellers and used equipment dealers that are interested in getting exposure for individual products they have for sale on the DrBicuspid site should consider listing them in DrBicuspid's Used Equipment Classified Section. Visit https://equipment.drbicuspid.com/ for details.

Q. Can I buy one sponsorship to cover all of my company's products and services?
A. No. Sponsorships in DrBicuspid's Buyer's Guide are sold at the individual product level. Your company can take advantage of our free basic listings for every single one of your products, whether you have one product or 100 products.
If your company would like to increase the visibility, interactivity, and lead-generation capabilities of any one of those individual products, you may purchase a sponsorship for that product. The number of sponsorships your company may purchase is only limited by the number of products you have.
Note - Your company profile listing is enhanced when you purchase a sponsorship on one or more of your products. You can't buy a sponsorship specifically for your company profile listing. Instead, it is a by-product of any product sponsorship. The level of company profile enhancement is determined by your highest individual product sponsorship.
As an example, if your company has 10 products, all free basic listings, then your vendor listing will have a minimal amount of company information and interactivity. If you purchase one or more Bronze sponsorships for any one of those 10 products, then the amount of company information and interactivity of your vendor listing increases to the Bronze level defaults. If you purchase one or more Silver sponsorships for any of those 10 products, then the amount of company information and interactivity of your vendor listing increases to the maximum, the Silver-level defaults. Any Gold and Platinum sponsorships only enhance those individual product listings, as your company listing will already be fully enhanced. So, effectively, a vendor having at least one Silver-sponsored product allows it to reap the full benefits of having increased company information and interactivity on its company profile page.

Q. Can I buy a sponsorship just for my company listing, instead of for a particular product?
A. No. Sponsorships in DrBicuspid's Buyer's Guide are sold at the individual product level. Your company profile listing is enhanced when you purchase a sponsorship on one of your products. You cannot buy a sponsorship specifically for your company profile listing. Instead, it is a by-product of any product sponsorship. The level of company profile enhancement is determined by your highest individual product sponsorship.

So, effectively, a vendor having at least one Silver-sponsored product allows it to reap the full benefits of having increased company information and interactivity on its company profile page.

Q. Are there any guarantees in terms of page views for my listings?
A. No. DrBicuspid does not guarantee a vendor's product, service and/or company listing will receive a specified number of page views. While page views are a useful performance measurement for most online advertising, it's largely irrelevant to compare the page views received for traditional interruption-based advertising campaigns to the page views received for something like a Buyer's Guide listing, where the ads are the content the user is browsing. As the Buyer's Guide is designed to generate easily measurable actions, such as e-mail inquiries and highly targeted leads for vendors, we can provide you with much more meaningful and quantifiable performance measurements such as leads generated. This type of performance data takes the guesswork out of marketing campaigns and makes ROI calculations very straightforward.
FAQ Top
Q. Is there a limit on the number of sponsorships sold?
A. There are no limits on the number of Gold, Silver, or Bronze sponsorships sold. Only one product or service can have a Platinum sponsorship in each category.
FAQ Top
Q. Can I buy a sponsorship in any category?
A. Yes. All of our sponsorship packages are offered for every category in DrBicuspid's Buyer's Guide. It doesn't matter if it's a broad category or a highly focused category. It doesn't matter if it's a basic category or an "Enhanced" category (these categories are flagged and offer increased functionality that allows users to compare detailed product specs side-by-side).
As the Buyer's Guide matures, some of the existing broad categories may graduate into more highly targeted, and "Enhanced" product or service categories. If you have a product sponsorship in one of these broad categories when it gets broken up into more highly targeted categories, your sponsorship will move into the new category right along with your product. Therefore, having a Platinum sponsorship in a broad category assures a vendor will retain rights to the Platinum sponsorship when a new "Enhanced" category is created.
FAQ Top
Q. If I have a Silver sponsorship in a particular product category, and there are no Gold or Platinum sponsors in that category, is my product listed at the top of the page?
A. It depends. If there are no Gold or Platinum sponsors in a particular category, but there is one or more Silver or Bronze sponsors, then the Silver- and Bronze-sponsored products, as a group, will be listed in alphabetical order at the top of the listings. How close your product is to being the top listing is determined by how many Bronze- and Silver-sponsored products there are in that category, and where you fit in the alphabetical ordering of those products. In this example category, you could jump to the top of the list by buying a Gold sponsorship. Of course, if there are other Gold-sponsored products, then your product would fall into line alphabetically with any other Gold-sponsored products. The only way to ensure you have the absolute top listing in a particular category is to own the exclusive Platinum sponsorship for that category.

Q. How much does it cost to be listed in DrBicuspid's Buyer's Guide?
A. It's free to list your company profile and all of your products and/or services. Additionally, it's free to list detailed product specs for all of your products and/or services.
You can increase the visibility, interactivity, and lead-generation capabilities of any product or company listing by choosing from a number of listing sponsorships. Contact the sales team for more information.

Q. What is a "NEW: Enhanced Category?"
A. DrBicuspid's Buyer's Guide is an evolving resource. Some category groups, such as RIS, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound, are enhanced in that they include a defined list of 30-80 product specification fields.
The category groups that include product specifications are denoted on the front end of the Buyer's Guide with a red "NEW: Enhanced Category" flag. The flag notifies our audience that these categories allow for side-by-side comparison of product specs and features for up to five products. All categories that are not marked with a flag are basic categories.
Basic categories do not have a defined list of product specification fields; rather, they have one all-encompassing specification field called "Product Description." Vendors can use a short paragraph or two in this "Product Description" field to convey the features and benefits of their products.
Vendors with products in enhanced categories may input comprehensive product specifications for each of their products by filling out a straightforward specification survey in the administration tool, which is found by drilling down to each product name. There is no cost involved.
Any product listed has the full functionality to display product specs. Vendors who choose not to include detailed product specifications for their products in these enhanced categories risk being left out of numerous buying decisions, and thus are at a competitive disadvantage to competing products which do list detailed product specifications.
Vendors with products in basic categories can also input product features and specs for each of their products, although they are limited by the fact that they have to fit it all into one general "Product Description" spec point.

Questions about inputting company and product/service information
Q. How do I create or edit my listing?
A. Vendors maintain their own product and company information through a Web-based interface. Vendors have the power to:
- Input and modify detailed company information.
- Modify existing product listings.
- Create new product listings.
- Add detailed product specs to product listings in certain categories.
- Determine whom will be your account custodian -- the person responsible for maintaining your company and product information.
- Set up a new, or choose an existing DrBicuspid.com MemberID with which to manage your company's Buyer's Guide listing. This can be the same MemberID you use to log into the http://www.DrBicuspid.com Web site.
- E-mail the MemberID and e-mail address of that account from #2 above to [email protected]. Include your company name and Web site URL. You must send this e-mail from an e-mail address that matches your company. We'll set you up from there (NOTE: Please don't e-mail your password).
FAQ Top
Q. Can we have more than one account custodian?
A. Understandably, large vendors with extensive product lines may not have one person with the knowledge and/or time to maintain all company and product information. If this is the case for your company, consider setting up a single master custodial account, and provide the MemberID and password of that account to everyone who you would like to have access to modify company and product information. You can change this account at any time. A different approach some vendors use is to establish a separate vendor listing for each of their company's main divisions or business units, then designate different custodians for each of these different divisions.
FAQ Top
Q. What kind of information may I include on my products and services?
A. The kinds of information you may include on your products and services first depends on the category in which the product is listed, then on the sponsorship level of the product.
Products and services listed in Basic categories may include:
- a product name of up to 35 characters
- product highlights of up to 35 characters
- and a detailed product description in paragraph form.
- a product name of up to 35 characters
- product highlights of up to 35 characters
- and between 20 to 80 detailed product specifications, depending on the category.
Depending on the sponsorship level of a product or service (regardless of category), vendors may also include the following:
- Company description
- Company logo
- Specific e-mail address to direct RFPs
- Specific e-mail address to direct customer questions
- Up to 2 promotional Web links, which are customizable
- Banner ads
FAQ Top
Q. I input my company info and product names -- am I done?
A. No. You're forgetting one of the most important free features of DrBicuspid's Buyer's Guide. Your company can provide relevant product specifications and features for each of its products.
For "Enhanced" categories, there is a defined set of up to 60+ product specs for your company to fill out. In these "Enhanced" categories, our buying audience has the ability to filter out products that don't meet their criteria for a specific product feature. For example, when a buyer goes into the "Nuclear Medicine - Complete Systems" category, he/she is presented with a list of more than 40 products. To weed out irrelevant products, the buyer can use our filter tool to quickly select only systems that have a particular Gantry Style, such as "Open" "Closed," or "Variable." If the buyer indicates that he/she only wants to see the products that have an Open Gantry Style, then our Buyer's Guide returns only products that have "Open" indicated as the Gantry Style. Any vendors that choose not to include this product spec would not be included in the results, regardless of whether or not their product has an Open Gantry Style. So vendors who fail to input their product specs risk being left out of numerous buying decisions.
For other basic categories, vendors can provide detailed product specs and features in paragraph form under a single general "Product Description" field.

Q. Is there anything I shouldn't touch and/or change in the Web-based administration tool?
A. No. Anything that allows you to modify it is OK to modify. If you make a change that you don't like, you can immediately change it back. Feel free to play around with confidence that you can always change it back and the changes will go live in our Buyer's Guide instantly.
FAQ Top
Q. Why isn't all of the company and product information I input through the Web-based administration tool visible on the Buyer's Guide on DrBicuspid.com?
A. The Web-based administration tool allows vendors to include all information required to take full advantage of our most comprehensive sponsorship packages (the Gold and Platinum levels). Ultimately, the amount of product and company information visible on the front end of the Buyer's Guide is determined by two factors:
- The sponsorship level of the product. We have five sponsorship levels, each subsequent level incrementally provides more visibility, interactivity, and lead-generation capabilities. Contact the sales team for more information.
- Whether the necessary information has been entered in the Web-based administration tool. Many benefits of the listing sponsorships are only visible on the front end of the Buyer's Guide if the related data field in the administration tool is completed. For example, if a vendor selects a sponsorship that enables them to receive RFPs via e-mail, but fails to enter an e-mail address (in the administration tool) for these RFPs to be sent, then their RFP checkbox on the front end of the Buyer's Guide will not be visible for that product.
