ImageWorks has been named the exclusive distributor of the Yoshida Dental Panoura 18S panoramic imaging system.
ImageWorks will begin distributing the Panoura 18S, a digital three-in-one x-ray system, on September 1, 2011, and will have exclusive distribution rights in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The company will also distribute the product on a nonexclusive basis across Latin and South America.
ImageWorks previously distributed the Panoura Ultra, an analog predecessor of the Panoura 18S, for a number of years.
The Panoura 18S utilizes a CMOS sensor that can be transferred to an optional cephalometric arm, ImageWorks explained. With a user-adjustable focal trough, errant images can be brought back into focus after acquisition. At various speeds, the Panoura 18S can take a quick pan of six seconds, up to a 16-second pan for maximum resolution.
ImageWorks plans to introduce the 3D upgrade component for a multiple field-of-view imaging.
