ModuleWorks launches dental CAD/CAM software

ModuleWorks, a supplier of CAD/CAM components for tool-path generation and simulation, has launched a new component for the dental industry.

A new Web page highlights the benefits of the dental software and shows how ModuleWorks technology can be used in dental CAD/CAM systems to manufacture copings, bridges, crowns, inlays, and abutments. The new ModuleWorks dental industry Web page offers a downloadable fact sheet, worked example, and video that outline the features of the company's 3-5 axis machining and simulation components for the dental industry. A free online demonstration is also available.

"We're seeing a lot of interest for our machining and simulation technology in the dental arena, and a number of our partners are providing solutions specific to rapidly growing market," said David Plater, technical director for ModuleWorks. "Our industry-specific pages show how different vertical markets can be addressed with our machining and simulation components."

ModuleWorks 3-Axis machining provides efficient roughing, rest roughing, and finish machining strategies while the 5-Axis CAM component offers sophisticated undercut finishing with full collision avoidance, according to the company's website. Its component technology is provided as a set of 32- or 64 bit Windows DLL libraries with a C++ class API to enable integration with your application. All versions of the Microsoft C++ are currently supported.
