J. Morita debuts low-dosage digital pano system

J. Morita USA has introduced the Veraview IC5 HD digital panoramic system. The company will be displaying the system at the upcoming California Dental Association meeting in Anaheim, May 13-16.

This unit offers high speed, clarity, and low dosage, according to the company. The new 10-second panoramic scan captures a high-resolution image with a 25% reduction in pixel size at one-sixth the effective dose. Additionally, it features a 5.5-second panoramic for a quick examination.

Digital Direct Auto Exposure (DDAE) and Auto Image Enhancer (AIE) are designed to fine-tune the imaging process. DDAE automatically sets kV and mA, and provides continuous, real-time adjustment of the parameters throughout the pass to compensate for varying densities. AIE, a software function, regulates the brightness level of detailed areas in the scan.

The unit offers fully automatic, simplified operation, CCD sensor technology, triple laser beams for easy positioning, and improved energy savings of up to 50%, the company said. Also intended for pediatric dentistry, the system features a 4.8-second panoramic with further reduced dosage.
