Great Expressions Dental Centers (GEDC) will award free orthodontic braces to one student or family in each of two Michigan school districts this fall as part of its participation in the Michigan Unite program.
The program is designed to help maintain a quality education for students by offering school districts supplemental revenue in response to state funding cuts. GEDC is partnering with the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools, Dearborn Heights School District #7, and Wayne-Westland Community School District this fall.
In addition, GEDC is awarding one student or family in these districts free braces to defer the expense of orthodontic care for the winner and to start the districts' Orthodontics Awareness promotion. The campaign kicks off with the start of the 2011-2012 school year.
"Partnering with Unite allows us to directly support the schools where many of our orthodontic patients are educated each day," stated Richard Beckman, CEO, in a press release.
Great Expressions Dental Centers is a privately owned dental practice management company with 151 affiliated dental offices in seven states. The company started with one dental office in Dearborn in 1975.
