Davids Natural Toothpaste has launched a new whitening toothpaste for sensitive teeth that uses NASA-developed nanohydroxyapatite to help repair enamel.
Nanohydroxyapatite was developed by NASA to repair and regenerate bone and enamel that astronauts were losing while in a zero-gravity environment in space, the company said.
The hydroxyapatite in the Davids Sensitive+Whitening toothpaste is deposited inside the passageways to the tubules, where the bioactive material bonds to the inner tooth surface, plugging the tubules and stopping sensitivity at its source, according to Davids. Nanohydroxyapatite also works to fill microscratches on the tooth's surface to restore enamel, the company noted.
