Medical device firm Collagen Matrix has agreed with Sunstar Group to acquire the Degradable Solutions division, including the Guidor line of resorbable synthetic medical implants.
Switzerland-based Degradable Solutions has been part of the Sunstar Group since 2011. The firm develops and markets tissue regeneration products, which are distributed globally for use in dental surgery and restorative procedures.
Degradable Solutions offers the Guidor line of bone graft substitutes and the Guidor bioresorbable matrix barrier membrane. The company has also developed a nonwoven, electrospun dental membrane set to launch in select markets in 2021
Collagen Matrix CEO Shawn McCarthy said the acquisition will allow the firm to offer a comprehensive portfolio of regenerative products to its OEM customers and global contract development customers.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Collagen Matrix is a portfolio company of Linden Capital Partners.
