DrBicuspid.com staff presented the 2017 Dental Excellence Award trophies at the recent 2018 Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting. The annual awards recognize outstanding new products and services.
DrBicuspid.com Editor-in-Chief Tony Edwards and National Sales Manager David Hurlbrink presented the trophies to the nine winning companies that attended the conference.
Last fall, DrBicuspid.com readers submit product nominations for each of the 10 award categories, which are then voted on by the readers. One of the companies was not able to attend the meeting.
Kassandra Costa, marketing manager of laboratory CAD/CAM USA for Dentsply Sirona, accepted the Best New CAD/CAM Product award for the InCoris CCB sintered metal disk.
Linda Bellisario, RDH, the senior marketing communications manager for GC America, accepted the Best New Consumer Product award for the company's MI Paste One toothpaste.
Harold Flynn Jr., Biolase's president and CEO, received the Best New Dental Equipment Product award for the company's Waterlase Express laser.
Kevin Stein, product manager at Hu-Friedy, accepted the Best New Dental Instrument award for the company's line of Titanium Implant scalers.
3Shape's Global Product Director Morten Urup (second from left) and Mike van der Poel (third from left), department manager for intraoral scanners, received the Best New Diagnostic/Imaging Device award for the company's Trios 3 wireless intraoral scanner.
Kurt Van Hofwegen, Dentsply Sirona's vice president of commercial development for North American endodontics, accepted the Dental Excellence Award in the Best New Endodontic Product category for the company's WaveOne Gold Glider file.
Ben Biesiada, senior project manager of chemical for Young Dental, received the Best New Preventive/Hygienist Product award for the company's fluoride varnish product, the Varnish Pen.
3M's Jennifer Van Ranst, the company's marketing leader for oral care in the U.S., accepted the Dental Excellence Award in the Best New Restorative Material category for the Filtek One composite.
Louis Vodopivec, director of marketing for Dentsply Sirona, accepted the award for the Best New/Updated Software/Service category for the company's Cerec SW 4.5 software.
Unfortunately, St. Renatus, whose Kovanaze needle-free regional anesthetic nasal spray won the award in the Best New Pain Management/Anesthetic Product category, was not in attendance at the 2018 Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting.
