3Shape has introduced new software for digital implant scanning and new lab scanners.
3Shape's new Smile Design is a planning tool that layers the design of proposed restorations on 2D photos of patients. This can change digital smile design from a cumbersome, lengthy process into something that can take a few minutes, according to the company.
3Shape's highly durable titanium scan bodies, introduced at the Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting, are designed to make digital implant scanning easier and capture implant positions accurately. Available for all major implant systems, they can be used with both intraoral and lab scanners.
Also at Chicago Midwinter, 3Shape introduced its E scanners for dental labs. They were developed to deliver high-quality, advanced scanning features at a lower price.
Additionally, the company announced that Henry Schein Orthodontics' bracket systems can now be accessed directly from within 3Shape's Indirect Bonding orthodontic software. This enables orthodontists and laboratories to virtually plan patient treatment, digitally place brackets, directly print transfer trays, and eliminate the need for an analog model and vacuum press.
