Ultradent launches MTA Flow repair cement

Ultradent Products has launched MTA Flow (mineral trioxide aggregate), a repair cement for pulpotomies, pulp capping, root-end filling, apexification, perforation repair, and root resorption.

The cement is a bioactive powder and liquid/gel system including fine, radiopaque, inorganic powder of tricalcium and dicalcium silicate, which sets with a water-based gel, according to the company. It forms a layer of hydroxyapatite, which induces a healing reaction when set. The powder/gel combination provides a variety of mixing options for an effective, nongritty, easy-to-deliver MTA.

The cement has a small particle size (less than 10 microns) and is more washout-resistant than other MTAs mixed with water, according to the company. The cement's mixing ratio is adaptable to every procedure and the quick-setting time allows it to rinse or air-dry without washing away the MTA within five minutes of application.
