Oral Health America (OHA) will honor Michael Alfano, DMD, PhD, with the Tribute Award at its 26th annual Gala & Benefit in February.
The event will be held February 24, 2016, at Navy Pier in Chicago, according to a press release. Dr. Alfano is a professor, dean, and executive vice president emeritus at New York University.
The award honors those whose careers significantly affect oral health on a regional or national level; who have been innovative, creative, and pioneering; who have been able to demonstrate positive, measurable change over a sustained period; and who have achieved success in overcoming barriers to oral health access, education, and advocacy.
The award will be presented at the annual fundraising benefit, which kicks off the Chicago Midwinter Meeting. It will feature a cocktail reception, dinner, and dancing, as well as a silent auction and raffle. Proceeds support OHA's programs serving children and older adults.
