Pulpdent has added Activa Kids to its line of Activa BioActive-Restorative products.
Activa Kids is an ionic restorative resin that is an opaque, light B shade for pediatric dentistry, and it contains a bioactive resin matrix, a shock-absorbing rubberized resin component, and bioactive glass fillers, according to the company. The resin stimulates mineral apatite formation and the natural remineralization process with the release and recharge of calcium, phosphate, and fluoride, Pulpdent said. The product does not contain bisphenol A (BPA), bisphenol A glycidyl methacrylate (bis-GMA), BPA derivatives, or mercury.
Activa Kids responds to pH changes with release and recharge of protective ions, according to the company. It is a two-part, light-cure, and self-cure material packaged in 5-mL, double-barrel, automix syringes.
