3M ESPE introduces 2 intraoral syringes

At the California Dental Association (CDA) meeting in Anaheim last week, 3M ESPE introduced a new wash delivery system designed to bring easier handling to intraoral syringing: Impregum and Imprint 3 intraoral syringes.

The small size and ergonomic design of the syringes make it easier for dental professionals to access hard-to-reach areas of the mouth, resulting in more precise applications and final restorations with excellent accuracy, the company said.

The syringes are compatible with any VPS or polyether wash material delivered from a 50-mL hand dispensed cartridge, and they offer better intraoral handling than standard hand dispensers.

In addition to their easy handling and convenience, Impregum and Imprint 3 intraoral syringes can also help reduce product waste in the impression-making procedure, 3M ESPE noted. Compared with hand dispenser tips, the Imprint 3 syringe results in 67% less material waste for VPS materials, while the Impregum syringe produces 84% less waste for polyether materials.

The syringes also enable dental professionals to dispense individual doses of wash material, giving them exact control over the material amount, with no predosed quantity. Because they are single-use products, the syringes allow for a more hygienic procedure and there is no need for time-consuming cleaning steps such as disinfecting the syringes, mixing tips, or cartridges.
