3Shape is collaborating with Roland DG to offer dental labs a new opportunity to achieve in-house automated production of dental restorations from their 3D data.
The companies are now offering an interface between the 3Shape CAMbridge system and Roland's DWX series of desktop dental milling systems that makes in-house zirconia milling available to labs of any size, the companies announced.
The interface enables fully automatic preparation and 3+1/3+2 axis milling of copings, crowns, and bridges in zirconia, directly castable dental forms in wax, and temporaries in poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA).
It can be run directly from inside 3Shape's DentalSystem software or integrated with other CAD systems, the companies noted.
