Dental stem cell bank opens in India

An Indian company has partnered with a French institute to set up a bank for dental stem cells, which can be used for dental applications, according to zeenews.com.

Stemade Biotech will extract stem cells from dental pulp so that they can be used for various therapeutic applications, including the potential to treat various hereditary diseases, according to the company.

"The novelty of dental stem cells is that they can be easily acquired and preserved for future application purposes," stated Franck Chaubron, CEO of the Institut Clinident Biopharma, in the story.

Chaubron is the developer and licensor of the patented technology for extracting and preserving stem cells obtained from dental pulp in primary teeth and wisdom teeth.
