What an amazing handpiece! With Dentsply Professional's Midwest Stylus ATC (adaptive torque control), it truly feels as if I am prepping in air.
The Midwest Stylus ATC handpiece by Dentsply Professional. |
The ATC combines air and electric handpieces in a single system and delivers everything the company claims it does: amazing power, incredible torque, and extremely light weight. It "knows" what you are doing and adapts to your procedure, delivering the exact amount of power you need to perform the task at hand. It doesn't seem possible, but it is true.
This handpiece removes existing crowns as if they were butter. Similar to electric handpieces, the speed and torque are maintained throughout the entire procedure, whether you are cutting through gold or dentin.
With the constant power of an electric but without the weight, the ATC is the perfect handpiece for every dentist's hand. It is definitely appealing to a woman practitioner, given the incredible power and light weight.
The ATC is also very easy to maintain. Changing the bulb is truly a snap.
