Astra Tech introduced its OsseoSpeed TX implant line to the U.S. market at the Academy of Osseointegration annual meeting on March 4-6 in Orlando, FL.
The OsseoSpeed TX implant comes as the next step in the evolution of the Astra Tech implant system, which features a modified tapered apex design. The implant system debuted in June 2008 with the launch of Astra Tech's narrow two-piece implant, OsseoSpeed TX 3.0 S.
The new design allows for easier implant installation in all indications, especially in soft bone where underpreparation is often desired, according to the company.
