D4D Technologies has announced that Ivoclar Vivadent's high-strength IPS e.max CAD LT ceramic blocks are now available to fabricate chairside restorations with the E4D Dentist system.
The IPS e.max CAD LT material, already available for Cerec milling, is nearly three times the strength of other millable ceramics for chairside restorative systems, according to a D4D press release. It is available in 13 shades and two block sizes (C14 and I12).
The lithium disilicate blocks are provided semicrystallized for more efficient milling, intraoral try-in, and adjustment. They must then be fired in a ceramic oven prior to final placement.
The IPS e.max CAD LT can be used in cases where porcelain fused to metal is normally used, according to Gary Severance, D.D.S., D4D's vice president of clinical affairs.
"Also the fact that an e.max CAD restoration can be placed using either the adhesive technique or conventional cementation protocol, depending on preparation design, makes this type of restoration more versatile than many others," he said in the press release.
The e.max CAD LT blocks and accessories are available through Henry Schein Dental for the E4D Dentist system.
